Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design robust feature representations from high-cardinality, implicit behavioral data to capture user intent
• Architect sequential and recency-aware systems to model temporal dynamics and changing tastes
• Solve the cold-start problem using cohort signals, clustering, and content embeddings
• Integrate model scores with operations-research engines for business-aware re-ranking
• Evolve systems using multi-stage retrieval, ranking, learning-to-rank, and gradient-boosted trees
• Drive rigorous experimentation through offline evaluation metrics and online A/B tests

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science or applied machine learning
• Deep expertise in personalization, search ranking, or recommender systems
• Strong grounding in statistics, causal inference, and experimentation
• Production-level engineering skills in Python and SQL
• Experience scaling models using big data frameworks
• Ability to translate complex business constraints into scalable ML architectures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or JAX
• Knowledge of probabilistic or hierarchical (Bayesian) modeling
• Experience with mathematical optimization or operations research
• Knowledge of reinforcement learning or contextual bandits
• Experience in e-commerce, grocery, or subscription-based B2C
