Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a SQL Server data warehouse and ETL processes
• Replace cursor-based data cleansing routines with Python-based processing
• Design pipeline orchestration and implement credential management
• Conduct statistical analysis, regression, and predictive modeling
• Apply machine learning and text analytics methods to add organizational value
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards
• Develop custom visualizations programmatically in Python
• Translate ambiguous stakeholder questions into measurable analysis

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, or advanced analytics
• Advanced SQL and hands-on experience with on-premises Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong Python skills for dataframe manipulation and numerical computing
• Demonstrated Power BI development experience including DAX and Power Query
• Experience building and maintaining ETL processes
• Applied experience in regression, classification, and statistical inference
• Working knowledge of version control and Python dependency management
• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA background investigation and PIV credential
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or comparable orchestration tools
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Azure Machine Learning
• Experience implementing CI/CD for Power BI assets
• Expertise in tree-based ensemble methods and time series analysis
• Experience with text analytics and topic modeling
• Prior VA, VHA, or federal health IT experience
• Microsoft certifications (PL-300 or DP-100)
