Job description
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor PostgreSQL in production environments including AWS RDS/Aurora
- Validate backup and recovery plans to meet RPO/RTO objectives
- Perform performance tuning using EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE and monitoring tools
- Automate database tasks using Python, Bash, or AWS tools
- Participate in the database on-call rotation
Requirements
- 6+ years of PostgreSQL DBA/DBRE experience in 24x7 production environments
- Strong experience with AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS RDS Certified Professional
- Experience with other AWS DBMS such as MySQL, MongoDB, or Redshift
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
