Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build polished, interactive web experiences for buffer.com including product launch pages, brand storytelling, and landing pages
• Implement thoughtful animations and interactions using Motion or CSS animations
• Evolve and maintain Buffer's design system and component library
• Improve accessibility and performance across the marketing site through ongoing iteration
• Shape engineering standards by pairing with engineers and reviewing code

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in front-end engineering
• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with front-end animation (Motion, CSS animations, etc.)
• Experience working with design systems and component libraries
• Strong sense of visual hierarchy, spacing, typography, and UX principles
• Ability to thrive in a remote, asynchronous work environment
• Experience with Next.js is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Next.js App Router, SSR/ISR patterns, or Edge functions
• Ability to demonstrate work through a portfolio, personal site, or open source contributions
