Senior Engineer - Dry Utilities

Responsibilities

• Develop or review dry utilities master plan reports, including demand load calculations and tie-in point requirements
• Oversee and design dry utilities infrastructure from concept to IFC stage, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards
• Conduct detailed engineering including grid stations, substations (up to 400kV), HV/MV/LV networks, including design and calculations, report writing
• Design underground and overhead lines (132/220/400 kV), relocation, and protection strategies
• Design street lighting, ROW and landscape lighting branch wiring, including calculations and load schedules
• Prepare or review telecommunications network design (manholes, ducts) and gas distribution systems
• Collaborate with clients, attend meetings/workshops, deliver presentations, and provide technical support/training to team members
• Review technical deliverables and contractor RFIs, approve key technical submittals related to electrical and dry utilities
• Promote digitalization, innovation, and workload improvements within the team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited university
• At least 8 years of experience in dry utility engineering (preferably in UAE/Middle East)
• In-depth knowledge of local UAE/Dubai codes and standards
• Strong technical skills in electrical systems, telecom networks, and gas distribution
• Proficient in design calculation software (Dialux, AGI, Lighting Reality, Amtech, ETAP)
• Proven track record designing/leading large infrastructure projects
• Excellent project management and multitasking skills
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with sustainable and energy-efficient dry utility designs
• Familiarity with Arabic language
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills in multicultural environments
