Senior Exploration Geologist

About the Company

KoBold builds AI models for mineral exploration and deploys those models—alongside our novel sensors—to guide decisions on KoBold-owned-and-operated exploration programs. KoBold has become both the largest independent mineral exploration company and the largest exploration technology developer.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards in health and safety, environment, and community relations
• Analyze geoscientific datasets to determine exploration potential and prioritize targets
• Design, budget, permit, and execute field programs ranging from geological mapping to large drilling programs
• Provide technical guidance and support to local in-country project teams
• Work collaboratively with data scientist colleagues to implement analytical methods

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years experience in the mineral exploration industry
• Strong technical knowledge of one or more ore deposit types
• Excellence in generative analysis and modeling of large datasets
• Proficiency in standard desktop software packages such as ArcGIS or QGIS
• Strong leadership and coaching skills for interdisciplinary teams
• Demonstrated commitment to high standards of health and safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with sediment-hosted stratiform copper or magmatic sulfide deposits
• Working knowledge of Python, R, or C/C++
• Knowledge of geostatistics or other statistical methods
• International experience, particularly in the Central African Copperbelt
