Senior Fleet Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated submission analyses, pricing outputs, and exposure summaries
• Make fast, precise underwriting decisions on commercial trucking accounts
• Identify inconsistencies in submission data such as FMCSA safety scores and DOT history
• Build and deepen proactive broker relationships
• Lead deal negotiations and present value propositions to insured leadership teams
• Document model blind spots and provide structured feedback to the Product team
• Mentor junior underwriters on risk identification and pricing fluency

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial trucking underwriting experience
• Deep technical knowledge of trucking operations, FMCSA/DOT data, and loss run analysis
• Pricing fluency across tier, experience mod, territory factor, and schedule mod
• Proven ability to build trusted broker relationships
• Strong executive presence for presenting to CFOs and fleet directors
• Collaborative mindset with interest in working alongside AI tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with telematics, IoT data, or AI-assisted underwriting platforms
• Background in mentoring or developing junior underwriters
• Experience at a high-growth insurtech or technology-forward carrier
• Formal negotiation training
