Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand operational challenges and define success criteria
• Translate open-ended problems into technical designs, architecture, and implementation plans
• Build AI-enabled solutions including data pipelines, workflow automations, and agentic services
• Own deployments, including reliability, performance, observability, and incident response
• Develop evaluation and measurement for AI behavior using success metrics and test harnesses
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to upstream reusable components
• Create repeatable playbooks, reference architectures, and internal tooling from one-off solutions
• Act as the voice of the field to shape product strategy based on customer needs

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience shipping and owning production software (backend or full-stack)
• Strong systems thinking involving APIs, event-driven systems, webhooks, and auth
• Applied AI/LLM experience including prompt/tool design, RAG, and evaluation
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and move from problem statement to shipped solution
• Clear, structured written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise environments, security reviews, and compliance
• Experience building with agent frameworks or workflow orchestration systems
• Familiarity with HRIS, payroll, or identity/access management domains
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, RBAC, and data privacy
