Senior Front-end Engineer (React) (IR-499)

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the new V2 front-end from scratch
• Design and implement reusable, scalable UI components
• Own front-end architecture decisions and drive improvements proactively
• Collaborate closely with: -Backend engineers (FastAPI, PostgreSQL); -Product and business stakeholders
• Translate product requirements into clean, intuitive user experiences
• Ensure the application is: fast, maintainable, easy to extend with future features and integrations
• Actively identify UX, performance, and technical improvements — and drive them to completion
• Take responsibility for production quality, not just feature delivery

Requirements

• Strong experience with React + TypeScript in production environments
• Deep understanding of modern front-end architecture
• Component-driven design
• Scalable folder and module organization
• Advanced CSS/SCSS (Sass) skills
• Comfortable building complex layouts and design systems without Tailwind or UI kits
• Experience with data fetching & async state
• TanStack React Query (or equivalent experience)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs
• Consuming well-documented APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Proven ability to work in a monorepo setup
• Strong focus on performance, maintainability, and code quality
• Experience working closely with backend engineers and product stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing or maintaining an in-house UI component library
• Familiarity with FastAPI / OpenAPI from a front-end consumer perspective
• Experience with authentication & SSO flows - SAML, OAuth, enterprise identity providers
• Knowledge of geolocation / maps concepts
• Google Maps APIs, distance calculations, map-based UIs
• Experience with AWS-based frontend hosting
• S3 static hosting, CloudFront, Route 53 (conceptual understanding is enough)
• Exposure to LocalStack or local cloud-like development environments
• Interest in or experience with product analytics, UX improvements, or experimentation
