Job description

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and generate leads in the large group market through networking, cold calling, and research
  • Consult with insurance brokers, HR departments, and executives to recommend tailored health insurance solutions
  • Develop and present customized health insurance proposals to key stakeholders
  • Negotiate plan rates, terms, and benefits to close sales
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with brokers and clients for renewals and upselling
  • Ensure compliance with market trends and regulatory changes like the Affordable Care Act
  • Collaborate with underwriting and client service teams for seamless onboarding
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas

Requirements

  • Proven experience in large group, self-funded health plan sales
  • Deep understanding of self-funded, level-funded, and fully insured plans
  • Knowledge of ACA compliance for large employers
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate plan benefits
  • Active health insurance license or ability to obtain one
  • Proficiency with CRM software

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in large group health plan sales
  • Knowledge of ancillary products including prescription drugs, stop-loss, dental, vision, and disability
  • Familiarity with alternative funding arrangements
