Senior Healthcare Integrations Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant software solutions for transmitting millions of messages monthly
• Design and evolve system architectures for complex, clearinghouse-specific EDI/API data mappings
• Implement advanced error handling, logging, and retry mechanisms within asynchronous workflows
• Collaborate with external clearinghouse partners to debug and troubleshoot non-standard integration systems
• Ensure compliance with EDI protocols and federal healthcare standards, including HIPAA security and privacy regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and document all features and processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing robust software solutions, preferably in healthcare
• Strong fundamental skills in building and integrating APIs
• Experience scaling API systems in a cost-effective manner
• Proficiency in PHP or Python (or comparable languages)
• Ability to quickly adapt to new programming languages and technologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with 837, 277, 999, and 835 EDI transactions
• Knowledge of healthcare data interchange standards like HL7 and FHIR
