About the Company

Imagine Worldwide is a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children across Sub-Saharan Africa with essential literacy and numeracy skills through innovative education technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for Malawi and Tanzania portfolios, advising on workforce strategy and organizational design
  • Translate global people strategy into actionable country-level plans
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning processes
  • Manage employee relations, including disciplinary processes, investigations, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws across multiple African countries
  • Drive the implementation of performance management frameworks and coaching for managers
  • Champion organizational culture, engagement, and inclusive practices
  • Coordinate with payroll providers, PEOs, or Employers of Record
  • Provide input on compensation benchmarking and salary review cycles

Requirements

  • Honours Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or related field
  • 8–10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years at a senior HRBP or HR Lead level
  • Proven experience providing end-to-end HR leadership across multiple countries or business units
  • Experience working across African countries or emerging markets preferred
  • Experience with remote or hybrid teams across multiple geographies
  • Strong generalist HR capability in organizational design, talent management, and compliance
  • High cultural intelligence and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in high-growth or scaling organizations
  • Experience in the non-profit, social impact, education, or development sectors
