Senior Java Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of legacy monolithic applications to Java-based microservices
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Deploy and manage applications in AWS Kubernetes environments
• Optimize database performance, scalability, and reliability
• Develop secure, production-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Implement authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices
• Support integrations with internal, external, and third-party systems
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot
• Participate in production support and on-call rotations

Requirements

• 8+ years of Java development experience
• Strong expertise with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and REST APIs
• Experience modernizing legacy applications into microservices architectures
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases
• Knowledge of OAuth and application security best practices
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
• Must have lived continuously within the United States for the previous three consecutive years

Preferred Qualifications

• Ruby-to-Java migration experience
• Federal government or healthcare IT experience
• Experience with AWS cloud services and CI/CD pipelines
