Senior Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally to identify, analyze, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks related to new products and services
• Provide proactive legal and regulatory advice to stakeholders to enable the launch of crypto products
• Participate in the ongoing development of the regulatory advisory function
• Represent the group before regulators, financial partners, and external audiences
• Review, update, and draft user agreements and external-facing terms and conditions
• Work with Risk and Compliance teams to assess regulations and set company standards
• Review and advise on external facing marketing and user content
• Select and manage external counsels

Requirements

• Around 9 years of post-qualification experience in-house or at a reputable law firm
• At least 3 years focused on crypto regulation, payments law, FinTech, or financial services
• Experience with regulatory analysis in an international or cross-border environment
• Ability to provide business-focused legal advice on payments and consumer protection laws
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese is essential
• Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese language word processing
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced international environment and handle ambiguity
