Senior Legal Counsel (Generalist)

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for expansion into new jurisdictions, including corporate setup and local approvals
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including service, technology, and vendor contracts
• Lead legal workstreams and coordinate cross-functional projects with compliance, operations, finance, and technology teams
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments in relevant markets and provide practical business recommendations
• Support licensing processes and ongoing legal matters in regulated jurisdictions such as Malta, India, and the UAE/DIFC
• Advise internal teams on commercial, regulatory, employment, and people-related issues
• Manage relationships with external counsel to ensure high-quality and commercially sound support

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of post-qualification experience
• Previous experience at a leading international law firm or a top-tier regional practice
• Proven track record of handling sophisticated multi-jurisdictional matters independently
• Commercially minded approach with the ability to balance legal risk against business priorities
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and modern AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters to non-legal stakeholders
• Fluent in both Russian and English (written and spoken)
