Job description
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT, desktop, and server-class hardware platforms
- Partner with silicon vendors to deliver an optimised, first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms
- Lead technical customer engagements across complete cloud-to-edge system architectures
- Help partners integrate apps, SDKs, and build device OS images using Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server
- Contribute to technical plans, testing strategy, and quality metrics for partner platforms
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar
- Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto)
- Experience working with open source communities and licences
- Proficiency in Python, C, and C++
- Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with server technologies including UEFI firmware, GPU computing, RDMA/Infiniband, and virtualization stacks
- Familiarity with graphics stacks and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST)
- IoT and embedded experience across board, SoC, BMCs, bootloaders, and firmware
- Experience with CI automation platforms such as GitHub
- Performance benchmarking and profiling experience
- Familiarity with Docker/OCI containers and Kubernetes
