About the Company

KoBold builds AI models for mineral exploration and deploys those models—alongside our novel sensors—to guide decisions on KoBold-owned-and-operated exploration programs. In the 8 years since founding, KoBold has become by far both the largest independent mineral exploration company and the largest exploration technology developer.

Responsibilities

• Own cash forecasting including quarterly and annual spend predictions
• Develop analytical models to inform decision making and identify cost improvement opportunities
• Produce actionable reporting that translates financial data into usable information
• Build and maintain a single source of truth for financial data
• Lead the business justification process to ensure efficient capital allocation
• Develop a deep understanding of technical operations to improve team effectiveness
• Assess, select, and design FP&A systems and tools
• Drive automation and implement AI-enabled workflows
• Develop and lead a small, high-performing FP&A team
• Support IPO readiness efforts

Requirements

• 8+ years of FP&A or corporate finance experience
• Experience in capital-intensive, operationally complex businesses (mining, manufacturing, aerospace, energy)
• Experience managing small teams in high-growth environments
• Demonstrated experience evaluating and deploying finance technology platforms
• Advanced Excel financial modeling skills
• Direct experience working with ERP systems
• Ability to travel to exploration field operations and mine development operations

• SQL or Python comfort
