Senior Manager, R&D Accounting

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end clinical and R&D accrual analyses, including reviews of CRO reports, patient costs, site accruals, and clinical manufacturing accruals
• Prepare monthly journal entries, supporting documentation, and account reconciliations
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance and potential risks
• Review contracts and amendments to determine impact on clinical accruals
• Maintain SOX controls for assigned areas of responsibility
• Support internal and external reporting requirements for management, investors, and regulatory compliance
• Work cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Manufacturing, Research, and FP&A
• Collaborate with external CROs and clinical/manufacturing vendors
• Assist with documentation and explanations for annual audits
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5+ years of Biotech experience
• 2+ years of focus on clinical trial accrual accounting
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Experience with NetSuite and Coupa
