Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4-7 software engineers, setting priorities and success criteria
• Own team capacity planning, hiring, and resource allocation
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and mentorship
• Manage engineering execution for international market launches and feature development
• Shape long-term architecture and engineering direction for the Byte platform
• Set guidance for AI tool usage to improve team productivity
• Collaborate with product management, QA, and operations to develop solutions
• Communicate complex technical topics to senior leadership

Requirements

• BA/BS or higher in Computer Science or a related STEM field
• 10+ years of hands-on experience building robust mobile/web software
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams
• Experience with AI development tooling in a professional capacity
• Proven ability to build systems that solve complex problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to distributed systems and peer-to-peer architecture
• Background in restaurant tech, retail POS, or in-store operational systems
• Production experience with Kotlin and Android
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
