Senior Mechanical Estimator

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for self-performed mechanical piping scopes
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs from P&IDs, isometrics, layouts, and specifications
• Prepare detailed estimate narratives, labor assumptions, and contingency recommendations
• Identify and quantify labor-driven risks such as productivity loss and staffing constraints
• Mentor junior estimators and take-off staff
• Coordinate with operations, project management, engineering, and procurement teams
• Participate in internal risk reviews and executive pricing approvals
• Support preconstruction meetings, site walks, and client presentations

Requirements

• Proven experience estimating self-performed mechanical and piping scopes in industrial markets
• Expert knowledge of industrial piping systems (carbon steel, stainless, alloy, plastic, and lined piping)
• Proficiency with estimating platforms such as Trimble Autobid or Bluebeam
• Strong understanding of contract structures including Lump sum, GMP, and T&M
• Ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid environment
• Willingness to travel for site walks, pre-bid meetings, and project milestones
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and industrial safety best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to interpret 3D models such as Navisworks
• Experience with BuildingConnected or Trade Tapp
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, power generation, or pharmaceutical sectors
