Responsibilities

• Build and lead the intellectual property function as the company's first dedicated IP counsel
• Shape and execute patent strategy across breakthrough technology sectors
• Draft and prosecute patent applications and manage the global IP portfolio
• Partner with product and engineering teams to drive invention disclosure processes
• Oversee freedom-to-operate and infringement analyses
• Lead IP diligence for acquisitions and asset purchases
• Manage outside counsel
• Negotiate complex IP provisions in commercial agreements
• Advise on trademark, trade secret, and IP aspects of employment and contractor agreements

Requirements

• J.D. degree
• Active U.S. law license
• USPTO registration
• At least 7 years of IP experience
• Strong record of patent drafting and prosecution in technology, materials, or hardware sectors
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline
• U.S. citizenship (required due to export control regulations)
