Senior Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve the internal platform that powers engineering at GoodShip
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
• Improve developer experience by identifying workflow friction and streamlining deployment workflows
• Design and implement observability using modern monitoring tools, defining SLIs and SLOs
• Partner with product engineering to improve the accuracy and reliability of data processing pipelines
• Automate manual work and eliminate bottlenecks to enable efficient scaling

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-quality systems
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating production workloads on AWS
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
• Experience implementing observability using Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture
• Proficiency using AI development tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or Claude

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting high-growth SaaS platforms
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, ECS, Docker, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with event-driven architectures or logistics/supply chain software
