Senior Platform Engineer

About the Company

Rally is the User Research CRM that helps product, design, and research teams talk to their users quickly, safely, and at scale. We are building an AI-native platform that handles the full research recruiting lifecycle, end to end.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale critical backend systems including data sync pipelines, search APIs, and workflow automation
• Drive platform-level projects such as activity feeds, custom objects, and tenant isolation
• Collaborate with product engineers to eliminate platform bottlenecks and improve development velocity
• Participate in the shared platform on-call rotation and lead post-incident reviews
• Shape the backend foundation for Rally's agentic platform to support AI agents at scale
• Influence architectural decisions and establish engineering standards
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical design discussions

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating complex backend systems in production
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js fundamentals
• Deep experience with AWS managed services (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, MSK)
• Experience with event-driven systems and streaming infrastructure like Kafka
• Proven track record of owning technical areas end-to-end
• Strong understanding of observability (metrics, logs, traces)
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems like Temporal
• Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search infrastructure at scale
• Exposure to AI-native product development or agentic workflow patterns
• Experience as an early or founding member of a platform team
• Familiarity with GraphQL APIs and the Prisma ORM
