Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, analysts and engineers to design and launch compliant products for MEA markets.
  • Perform pre-launch and ongoing product compliance legal and regulatory analysis and risk assessments.
  • Empower product teams to build risk-based products, processes and scalable customer-centric controls.
  • Oversee the MEA control environment, design targeted controls and evaluate residual risk exposure.
  • Maintain and produce management information to inform regional and global decision-making.
  • Lead audit interactions, issue management and remediation; challenge findings and track closure.
  • Represent the company in meetings with banking partners and central banks; clearly articulate products and compliance frameworks.

Requirements

  • Regulatory-legal background with MEA experience
  • Strong understanding of payment regulations and compliance
  • Experience in risk assessment and control design
  • Ability to translate regulation into practical product requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder communication with product and engineering teams
  • Problem-solving attitude and data-driven decision making
  • Willingness to travel for regional engagements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience at a financial institution regulated in MEA (e.g., UAE, Türkiye, South Africa, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia)
  • Experience working with regulators or at a regulator (e.g., CBUAE, DFSA, FSCA)
  • Consultancy background in financial services in MEA
  • Payment systems and cross-border payments expertise
  • Arabic and/or Turkish language skills (advantageous)
