Senior Product Designer

Responsibilities

• Drive the visual design and delivery of pixel-perfect, user-friendly interfaces across digital platforms, ensuring adherence to accessibility standards and business objectives.
• Foster close collaboration with product managers, engineers, researchers, and fellow designers to guide products through the entire lifecycle.
• Develop high-fidelity prototypes for effective communication, design validation, and iterative refinement based on feedback, research, and data insights.
• Actively contribute to and utilize the Firefly design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to established design principles.
• Champion inclusive design practices and ensure all deliverables meet or exceed WCAG and other relevant accessibility standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in visual design, UI design, and product design roles, with a proven track record of successfully delivering digital products across various platforms (web, mobile, desktop).
• Visual Design Mastery: Exceptional portfolio showcasing advanced UI design, typography, color theory, layout principles, and a keen eye for detail across digital interfaces.
• Prototyping Proficiency: Expertise in creating high-fidelity, interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, demonstrating complex user flows and interactions.
• Design System Fluency: Demonstrated experience in using, contributing to, and advocating for design systems to ensure brand consistency and design scalability.
• Accessibility Standards Knowledge: Solid understanding of WCAG guidelines and best practices for creating accessible digital products.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders, translating complex requirements into elegant design solutions.
• Communication & Presentation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
• Problem-Solving Acumen: Ability to analyze complex design challenges, identify user needs, and develop innovative, user-centered solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to or leading the development of a design system.
• Familiarity with user research methodologies and translating research insights into design.
• Experience working within an Agile development environment.
• Knowledge of front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to inform design decisions.
• Experience mentoring junior designers or leading design initiatives.
