Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design for core props workflows, defining player-facing interactions for new content types like companions and environmental objects.
  • Define interaction models, affordances, and behavioral systems to make props intuitive in immersive social contexts.
  • Establish new UX patterns for spatial and presence-based interaction across desktop, VR, and mobile.
  • Translate technical concepts into approachable UX through thoughtful flows, visual hierarchy, and user-friendly microcopy.
  • Partner closely with engineers to ensure interactions are responsive, performant, and technically feasible.
  • Run usability testing and use in-world prototyping to validate interaction concepts and refine usability.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of product design experience with a focus on interaction design, systems design, or immersive environments.
  • Proven experience designing interactive systems, game mechanics, or spatial interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience collaborating with engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with Unity, SDKs, Blender, or other developer tools.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cross-platform design (desktop, mobile, and VR headsets).
  • Familiarity with social VR, presence-based UX, or designing for avatar-based expression.
  • Understanding of trust, safety, or moderation systems for online interactions.
  • Passion for online communities, emergent play, and the sociology of digital spaces.
