Senior Python Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Integrate into a development team to build products and improve Itaú bank's data platform
• Lead the adoption of modern development practices
• Utilize AI deeply within the daily work cycle to accelerate delivery and ensure software quality
• Design agents and create modular tools for safe operation within the codebase
• Implement Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Intent Development to minimize manual code generation
• Design isolated test environments (scaffolds/simulators) for autonomous code validation

Requirements

• Solid experience with Python backend programming
• Good knowledge of Java programming
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design
• Experience with APIs and microservices development
• Knowledge of event-oriented cloud system architecture
• Experience with software testing (TDD, distributed systems testing)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
• Experience with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, StepFunction, CloudWatch, S3, SNS, RDS)
• Experience with SCM (Git), CI/CD, and DevOps processes
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Mastery of AI-assisted development cycles using Code Agents

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of NoSQL (preferably DynamoDB)
• Experience with analytical data processing platforms (Hadoop, SAS)
• Experience with Kafka
• Experience with Containers (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift)
• Knowledge of SRE
• Knowledge of Generative AI and multi-agent architecture
• Knowledge of observability, logging, and AWS service monitoring
