Job description

About the Company

Prevail is a new foundation dedicated to pursuing bold goals. We set a social change goal, find philanthropists who have a similar vision, raise a pooled fund, and then make grants. Rather than choosing a general issue area, each pooled fund chooses a simple, targeted goal.

Responsibilities

  • Help frame the comparison by defining impact metrics and evidence-levels frameworks
  • Review academic studies, evaluations, and third-party sources for approximately 20 organizations
  • Synthesize evidence to identify how and why intervention models work or break down
  • Manage and update the cost-effectiveness model based on research insights
  • Contribute to the final decision memo to inform the launch of a new fund

Requirements

  • 6+ years in research, evaluation, philanthropy, or consulting
  • Experience with evidence reviews or cost-effectiveness analyses informing funding or policy
  • Ability to synthesize academic and field evidence in low- and middle-income contexts
  • Strong independent judgment and ability to work through ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cost-effectiveness analysis (BOTEC or CEA) or GiveWell-style approaches
  • Domain knowledge in livelihoods, economic empowerment, or poverty programming
