Senior Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive security engineering across Hummingbird's infrastructure
• Manage vulnerability and dependency tooling and design/enforce controls
• Ensure AWS environment managed via Terraform is hardened and audit-ready
• Develop a threat intelligence program to monitor the external landscape
• Connect external threats to internal risks, including incident response and disaster recovery
• Influence overall architecture and hosting strategy

Requirements

• 7+ years of total experience
• 3–5 years in a dedicated security engineering role (Security Engineer, AppSec Engineer, or equivalent)
• Proficiency with Terraform and AWS
• Experience navigating network security, encryption, access controls, and permissions
• Ability to work in high-security, high-stakes environments
• Understanding of AI as a new threat vector for security

Preferred Qualifications

• Startup experience
• Experience in the financial sector, especially around compliance or fraud
