Job description
Responsibilities
- Develop MAAS core components and features to make MAAS the #1 bare metal cloud system
- Shape the architecture of MAAS to make it simpler, faster and easier to use
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure MAAS works well with other tools and is released on time
- Contribute to continuous integration environment, tests, and practices
- Contribute to documentation of current and existing features
- Provide technical communication and collaboration with other teams
- Take personal ownership of problems and drive them to solutions
- Travel internationally a few times a year to meet and collaborate with teams
Requirements
- Professional software development experience in Python or Go (back-end) or TypeScript/React (front-end)
- Experience with Linux server technologies, including Virtualization (KVM) and Containers (LXC)
- Knowledge of network technologies including PXE, DHCP, TFTP, DNS, and NTP
- Experience with Baseboard Management Controllers and Protocols (Redfish, IPMI, AMT)
- Strong experience with networking, storage technologies, and Cloud hosting/infrastructure
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field
- Strong English language communication skills
- Passion for open source software, Linux, and Data Centre automation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale physical server provisioning and automation
- Familiarity with Ubuntu projects and tools like Launchpad, Debian packaging (APT, dpkg), or snapcraft
- Exceptional academic track record
