Senior Software Engineer, Frontend Platform

Responsibilities

• Own the long-term technical direction of Roo's frontend platform, including systems, tooling, and architecture for web and mobile
• Partner with Product and Design to evolve the design system as a foundational platform
• Make the design system effortless to consume by engineers, designers, and AI agents
• Lead platform initiatives like framework upgrades, React Native modernization, and Expo adoption
• Own the migration of legacy components to the v2 design system
• Establish patterns for rapid page and flow shipping using modern component libraries
• Improve developer experience through shared tooling, automation, documentation, and templates
• Identify and systematically eliminate friction points in the development workflow

Requirements

• Significant experience building production software with a focus on frontend systems
• Deep expertise in React and TypeScript
• Experience with React Native or mobile development
• Experience working with modern design systems and Figma
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Claude
• Ability to own a technical roadmap and prioritize work within an engineering organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Storybook or style-dictionary
• Experience with design token pipelines
• Experience with animation frameworks like Framer Motion, Rive, or Lottie
