Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of toolpath algorithms to serve as the core engine for next-generation dental lab automation
  • Build workflows for multi-modal manufacturing, including hybrid additive and subtractive processes
  • Develop novel 6DoF robotic control mechanisms to automate high-dexterity tasks like polishing and finishing
  • Research and implement toolpath simulation and collision avoidance algorithms to ensure manufacturing precision
  • Partner across engineering and operations teams to transition theoretical robotics into production-ready deployments
  • Solve critical manufacturing bottlenecks to enable global scaling of dental production

Requirements

  • Strong Software Engineering background with the ability to write production-grade, high-performance C++ or Python
  • Deep, hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC or 6DoF robotic integration
  • Proficiency in computational geometry, including 3D concepts, mesh processing, and algorithms
  • Experience with toolpath simulation, kinematics, and robotic path planning
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to support on-site project needs at various manufacturing sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Familiarity with both additive (SLA/DLP) and subtractive (Milling/Grinding) manufacturing processes
  • Background in dental or medical technology, specifically digital prosthetic design
  • Knowledge of GPU optimization (HLSL, GLSL, or CUDA) for parallelizing geometry processing
  • Experience with compliance and regulatory documentation in medical device manufacturing
