Senior Software Engineer II, Toolpath Algorithms

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of toolpath algorithms for next-generation dental lab automation
• Build workflows for hybrid production involving 3D printing and injection molding or milling
• Develop novel robotic control mechanisms (6DoF) to automate high-dexterity tasks
• Research and implement toolpath simulation and collision avoidance algorithms
• Partner across engineering and operations to transition robotics into production-ready deployments
• Solve critical manufacturing problems to enable global scaling

Requirements

• Software engineering background with ability to write production-grade C++ or Python
• Deep hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC or 6DoF robotic integration
• Proficiency in computational geometry, mesh processing, and 3D algorithms
• Experience in toolpath simulation, kinematics, and robotic path planning
• Ability to travel up to 30% to Salt Lake City, Dallas, and Indianapolis sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced startup environments
• Familiarity with both additive (SLA/DLP) and subtractive (Milling/Grinding) processes
• Experience with digital prosthetic design or medical device manufacturing
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory concepts in regulated device manufacturing
• Deep knowledge of GPU optimization (HLSL, GLSL, or CUDA)
