Senior Tax Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead domestic and international tax compliance for digital assets, including income recognition, staking rewards, and token distributions.
• Prepare and review ASC 740 tax provisions, workpapers, and financial reporting for crypto-related activities.
• Develop tax-efficient structures for token launches, DePIN incentive programs, and cross-border operations.
• Design and implement accounting processes and internal controls for on-chain transactions, wallet activity, and smart contracts.
• Partner with legal, engineering, and product teams to evaluate tax implications of new features and tokenomics.
• Monitor evolving global crypto, DeFi, and Web3 tax regulations to provide proactive guidance.

Requirements

• CPA certification and/or an advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• 6+ years of progressive tax accounting experience, specifically with ASC 740 tax provisions and corporate compliance.
• Genuine interest in cryptocurrency, digital assets, and blockchain technology.
• Proficiency with tax software, ERP systems, advanced Excel, and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work in a part-time equity cofounder capacity with an ownership mentality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with cryptocurrency or digital asset taxation (wallets, exchanges, staking, DeFi, or NFTs).
• Experience at a crypto-native company, blockchain protocol, or a Big 4 firm with a digital assets practice.
• International tax expertise relevant to global blockchain operations (BEPS Pillar II, transfer pricing, VAT/GST).
• Familiarity with Layer-1 protocols, token economics, or DePIN models.
