Senior Technical Animator

Responsibilities

• Implement, tune, and maintain animation systems in Unreal Engine 5
• Prototype, test, and ship animation, physics, and procedural animation solutions
• Create and maintain Animation Blueprints, Control Rigs, and physics assets
• Partner with Animation, Design, Art, and Engineering teams
• Improve workflows, pipelines, and documentation for the Animation team
• Mentor junior team members and model high standards of craft

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Technical Animator
• At least one shipped Unreal Engine 5 title in a Technical Animator role
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5 animation systems and Blueprints
• Strong understanding of state-driven and parameterized animation
• Knowledge of real-time character rigging, weighting, and blend shapes
• Experience with animation software such as Blender
• Ability to design intuitive tools and frameworks for animators
• Strong debugging and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with procedural animation systems like Control Rig
• Python or C++ scripting/programming experience
• Experience creating animation tools and scripts
• Experience with Unreal Engine materials, cloth simulation, or hair simulation
• Previous work on underwater games or Early Access titles
