Job description
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of incidents from detection through resolution, coordinating with internal teams and clients
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex security, network, systems, and cloud-related issues
- Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of incidents and recommend corrective actions
- Serve as an escalation point for unresolved alerts and incidents
- Mentor and support SNOC Engineer I team members
- Create, update, and enhance operational documentation and standard operating procedures
- Investigate and respond to complex security incidents involving malware, phishing, and suspicious activity
- Maintain and tune SIEM and EDR detections
- Troubleshoot advanced network incidents including routing, VLAN misconfigurations, and connectivity disruptions
- Support Active Directory administration and automate routine tasks using PowerShell or Bash
- Troubleshoot cloud-based incidents involving networking, compute, storage, and identity services
Requirements
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in SOC, NOC, IT support, or infrastructure operations
- Solid understanding of common cyber threats and attack techniques
- Experience with incident response processes and alert triage
- Working knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and core networking protocols
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux environments
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms and monitoring tools
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology
- CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or Network+ certifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
