Job description

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of incidents from detection through resolution, coordinating with internal teams and clients
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex security, network, systems, and cloud-related issues
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of incidents and recommend corrective actions
  • Serve as an escalation point for unresolved alerts and incidents
  • Mentor and support SNOC Engineer I team members
  • Create, update, and enhance operational documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Investigate and respond to complex security incidents involving malware, phishing, and suspicious activity
  • Maintain and tune SIEM and EDR detections
  • Troubleshoot advanced network incidents including routing, VLAN misconfigurations, and connectivity disruptions
  • Support Active Directory administration and automate routine tasks using PowerShell or Bash
  • Troubleshoot cloud-based incidents involving networking, compute, storage, and identity services

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in SOC, NOC, IT support, or infrastructure operations
  • Solid understanding of common cyber threats and attack techniques
  • Experience with incident response processes and alert triage
  • Working knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and core networking protocols
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux environments
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms and monitoring tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology
  • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or Network+ certifications
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
