Social Media Manager - French

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of Chess.com's official French social media channels across X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
• Develop, produce, and publish original, high-quality content that engages new and existing audiences
• Monitor and engage with conversations, trends, and key creators within the global chess community
• Analyze and report social media performance data and audience insights to inform content strategy
• Collaborate with marketing, content, and events teams to execute social media campaigns
• Identify emerging platforms and pilot new content formats by anticipating algorithm shifts

Requirements

• Proven experience managing social media channels, preferably in gaming, entertainment, or tech
• Demonstrated ability to create timely, highly engaging content including memes and viral videos
• Proficiency with photo and video editing software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut)
• Deep understanding of platform algorithms and best practices for major social media platforms
• Excellent communication skills for a fully distributed, remote team environment
• Strong cultural fluency in French with ability to adapt content for French-speaking communities

• Immersion in chess culture and active awareness of social media trends
• A sense of humor and ability to align content with internet culture
• Experience working across EMEA timezones
