Software Engineer, Billing

Responsibilities

• Implement usage and billing systems changes end-to-end, from UI updates to raw usage events and Stripe invoicing
• Evolve the ledger system serving as the source of truth for customer balances, credits, and adjustments
• Integrate deeply with Stripe, managing subscriptions, usage records, webhooks, and edge cases like prorations
• Build billing APIs and internal tooling for product, finance, and customer success teams
• Improve observability across the billing pipeline to detect and debug metering lag and reconciliation discrepancies
• Partner with product, infrastructure, and finance teams to ship new pricing models
• Own usage and limits, payments, grants, promotions, and internal data insights

Requirements

• Experience shipping a usage-based billing system in production
• Deep understanding of metering architecture, idempotency, and exactly-once semantics
• Experience integrating deeply with Stripe and managing its data model
• Experience building or maintaining a financial ledger
• Ability to ship features end-to-end, from infrastructure to UI components
• Strong focus on correctness and system observability
