Software Engineer I

About the Company

PublicInput develops and supports Software-as-a-Service (Saas) solutions designed for government agencies and their consultant partners to facilitate and manage better communication with the public.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve applications with a focus on frontend and user experience
• Develop responsive interfaces and reusable components
• Translate product and design requirements into working software
• Improve usability, accessibility, and performance of the platform
• Contribute to C#/.NET, ASP.NET MVC, MSSQL, and Azure-based backend and infrastructure
• Partner with product managers, designers, and technical leads to solve customer problems
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation and debugging

Requirements

• Proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience with .NET, C#, jQuery, Azure, and DevOps
• Ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) as a productivity multiplier
• Solid problem-solving and debugging skills
• Knowledge of software development best practices including SOLID principles and design patterns
• Experience designing and maintaining end-to-end features of low to moderate complexity
• Strong ownership mindset and proactive communication skills
