Software Engineer II, Backend

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Bubble infrastructure that scales to infinitely many apps of any size and complexity
• Improve performance and reliability across backend services, supporting efficiency, capacity management, and data tier
• Support observability efforts and implement SLOs to surface performance characteristics to end users
• Build and iterate on core backbone services supporting billions of requests
• Contribute to the workflow engine and data tier for high-volume ingest and export
• Build foundational services and tools for next-generation cloud infrastructure
• Participate in triage and on-call processes to diagnose and resolve issues

Requirements

• 2+ years of industry experience as a software engineer, preferably in high-growth startups
• Strong coding skills and problem-solving abilities
• Understanding of scalable distributed systems
• Ability to partner effectively with teammates and managers
• Ownership mindset and initiative to build and fix

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Node.js, Rust, PostgreSQL, and Terraform
• Experience with AWS
