About the Company

Planting is building a system that represents domain knowledge as modular probabilistic models, making analysis rigorous and transparent. Their applications span finance and scientific research, including equity valuation and particle physics.

Responsibilities

  • Define new features or fixes based on overall objectives
  • Commit to delivering defined features or fixes end-to-end
  • Define implementation strategies and collaborate on execution
  • Write design documents for complex problems
  • Write clean and performant code
  • Help other team members deliver on their goals

Requirements

  • Bayesian statistics background
  • Experience with production backend software engineering
  • Experience with probabilistic programming language features
  • Implementation of Bayesian inference methods (MCMC, SMC, or VI)
  • Statistical modeling of real-world scenarios
  • Knowledge of constrained optimization algorithms
  • Experience with functional or typed programming
  • Proficiency in Julia (or experience in Rust, OCaml, Clojure, C++, or Haskell)
