About the Company

The Marshall Project is a nonprofit news organization dedicated to covering the U.S. criminal justice system. A Pulitzer Prize winner, we focus on investigative and explanatory projects to create a sense of urgency about the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain the existing analytics platform to improve reporting and performance
• Support the development and optimization of advertising infrastructure
• Design, build, and enhance features within the Content Management System (CMS)
• Build interactive tools, story components, and digital experiences for web and mobile
• Ensure products are responsive, accessible, and optimized for consistent user experience

Requirements

• Fluency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, git, and Ruby on Rails (or comparable framework)
• Familiarity with the command line and Git
• Experience with SQL databases
• Experience working with third-party APIs, external services, and asynchronous job processing
• Must reside in the United States with necessary work authorization
