Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead a software team that develops software using the KnowBe4 Software Development Lifecycle and Agile Methodologies
• Own the messaging and events platform including high-throughput email delivery and outbound channel integrations
• Manage people leadership including hiring, performance conversations, and career growth
• Drive technical communication through design docs, RFCs, and architecture reviews
• Recommend solutions to engineering problems and manage roadmap planning and dependencies
• Oversee delivery reliability, observability, and idempotency for messaging systems

Requirements

• Prior individual contributor experience in messaging, eventing, or platform engineering
• Production experience with Go (Golang)
• Familiarity with the Rust async ecosystem (tokio, axum, reqwest, serde)
• Experience with email infrastructure (AWS SES, SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
• Proficiency with third-party messaging APIs (Slack, Microsoft Graph, Google Chat)
• Experience with AWS messaging services (EventBridge, SNS, SQS) at scale
• Proficiency with C# (.NET 8+) or Python
• Experience with Terraform for multi-account, multi-region IaC
• Experience managing a platform or infrastructure team serving internal engineering customers
• BS degree with 3+ years of technical experience, MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in identity, authentication, or platform engineering
• Experience with Auth0, Keycloak, SAML, OIDC, and OAuth
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipeline design
• Knowledge of security engineering concepts like threat modeling and zero-trust
