Software Engineering Manager/Tech Lead

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and vision for an engineering squad, staying hands-on with architecture, code reviews, and technical decisions.
• Drive the successful delivery of software projects, including planning, resource allocation, and project management.
• Lead the development of AI-powered features, collaborating with data and clinical teams on LLM-based experiences and model integrations.
• Implement processes and tools to drive high-velocity, high-quality delivery across both onshore and offshore teams.
• Partner with product, clinical, and data teams to define technical roadmaps and translate technical details into business terms.
• Foster a culture of innovation and responsible AI practices, ensuring secure handling of member data and privacy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing and delivering complex projects with both onshore and offshore developers.
• Hands-on experience with backend systems, specifically using Go or cloud-native environments.
• Experience building or integrating AI-powered features and working knowledge of responsible AI practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor engineers in a remote, distributed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a startup environment.
• Experience with medical, healthcare, or population health data (familiarity with FHIR or OHDSI is a plus).
• Experience working within HIPAA-regulated environments or other highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) frameworks, including GKE, IAM, Firebase, or Pub/Sub.
• Understanding of data engineering concepts and practices.
