Solutions Engineer

About the Company

Field Materials develops AI-native material management software for construction. Our AI agents streamline material purchasing and equipment rentals, inventory management, and prefab operations. The company has grown 3x over the past year and is now processing $1B+ in construction purchasing volume.

Responsibilities

• Partner with AEs to conduct deep-dive technical discovery sessions
• Deliver tailored product demonstrations showcasing AI capabilities and ERP integrations
• Design solution architectures mapping modules to customer workflows
• Prototype custom AI agents to automate customer workflows
• Serve as a subject matter expert on integrations with Procore, Sage, Viewpoint, and others
• Lead technical evaluations, including security questionnaires and API discussions
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to provide field insights
• Act as a technical consultant during the closing stages of the sales cycle

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Solutions Architect
• Required SaaS experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, or related field
• Ability to manage multiple technical evaluations in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with construction ERP systems (Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation, CMiC, or Procore)
• Familiarity with construction workflows like RFQs, POs, and 3-way matching
• Interest in prompt engineering and building AI agents
