Specialized Coder - Cardiology, Vascular and CVTS

Responsibilities

• Code claims directly from the medical record/operative report according to coding guidelines
• Track and identify trends within charge review and follow up work queues
• Assist with research of denied claims
• Provide and/or assist with provider education and development of educational tools
• Mentor team members regarding coding guidelines and accuracy
• Maintain compliance with established corporate and departmental policies

Requirements

• 3+ years of coding experience
• Expert knowledge in Cardiology, Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery or Vascular Surgery coding
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
• Professional certification (CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT)
• Experience with EPIC and coding software tools
• High School Diploma or GED
