Staff Application Platform Engineer (DX)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate platform services that enable product teams to move fast and safely.
• Abstract common developer workflows into reusable tools, libraries, and APIs.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, and security across the stack.
• Diagnose and remove performance bottlenecks in production systems.
• Lead end-to-end projects from design through production and ongoing maintenance.
• Mentor engineers, evangelize best practices, and influence cross-team technical decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years platform/backend experience
• Expert TypeScript knowledge
• Node.js production experience
• GraphQL service development
• PostgreSQL (schema & performance)
• AWS (IAM, compute, networking)
• Observability & monitoring
• Security-first mindset
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building internal developer platforms
• Proven track record of owning cross-team projects
• Background with distributed systems and scalability
• Familiarity with serverless and containerized deployments
• Experience mentoring and growing engineering teams
