Staff Backend Engineer — Dubai (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve major backend areas end-to-end: business logic, APIs, data modeling, and infrastructure.
• Design and implement scalable systems to handle increasing load, complexity, and multi-tenant SaaS demands.
• Ship high-quality code and features: architect, build, test, deploy, and operate production services.
• Improve reliability with observability, testing, and automated CI/CD practices.
• Build reusable abstractions and frameworks to accelerate product development.
• Mentor and lead engineers, share best practices, and drive technical direction.

Requirements

• 8+ years building backend systems in production
• Strong backend engineering experience
• Distributed systems knowledge
• API design and implementation
• Data modeling expertise
• SaaS platform experience
• Proven mentoring experience
• Familiar with TypeScript or similar

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• PostgreSQL and relational data design
• GraphQL API design and implementation
• Containerization with Docker
• Production observability and testing practices
• Prior experience scaling B2B SaaS platforms
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure
