Staff Data Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Lead the team technically to improve scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of Data systems
• Develop strategy for long-term Data Platform architecture in collaboration with business units and engineering teams
• Conceptualize and own data architecture for multiple large-scale projects; evaluate design and operational trade-offs
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand and deliver on data needs
• Develop, implement, and enforce best practices for data infrastructure and automation
• Design and implement large-scale, high-performance data models and pipelines for Data Lake and Data Warehouse
• Improve reliability and scalability of data ingestion, processing, ETLs, reporting tools, and data ecosystem services
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data quality, consistency, and integrity
• Support and onboard new team members

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years hands-on engineering and technical leadership experience
• 6+ years experience in data platform or data engineering roles
• Expertise in large-scale data architecture, SQL, Python, and big data technologies (e.g., SparkSQL, Trino)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data visualization tools
• Proven ability to translate complex data into strategic insights
• Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environments focused on continuous learning
