Staff Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the building, maintenance, and optimization of pipelines to ingest data from operational databases and third-party tools
• Architect efficient ingestion patterns for evolving schemas and high-volume data streams
• Use dbt to transform raw data into structured, production-ready schemas using SQL and Jinja
• Manage dbt deployments and CI/CD workflows
• Set up monitoring and alerting frameworks for ingestion routines and dbt builds
• Build data applications and internal tooling to empower decentralized self-service analytics and ML work

Requirements

• Proven experience building and scaling ingestion pipelines using APIs, CDC, and orchestrators
• Advanced proficiency in dbt, including production deployments and custom Jinja macros
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud data systems like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks
• Strong proficiency in Python or similar back-end languages
• Experience with alerting infrastructure, Git, and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with A/B testing and statistical computation infrastructure
• Background supporting ML pipelines or feature stores
• Experience configuring semantic views or unified metrics layers
